Student May Have Been Lured, Touched: Ossining Police
Officers were a massive presence across the village before and after school Tuesday and officials asked parents to be watchful.

OSSINING, NY — Ossining police are investigating a report that a student was lured into a home on Dale Avenue after school on Monday.
The incident involved an elementary-school-age child, police said on Facebook. Because privacy of the victim is one of their primary concerns, police said, they would not release certain details.
Chief Kevin Sylvester and schools Superintendent Raymond Sanchez issued a joint letter to residents Tuesday afternoon.

Dear Ossining Families & Colleagues:
We are writing today to make families aware of an incident that occurred yesterday afternoon. The Police Department was called to a location on Dale Avenue where a young student reported being approached by an adult male. It appears that the man had encouraged the young person into his yard and possibly into his home where it is believed that he may have engaged in inappropriate touching. An investigation is underway and the criminal aspect of this incident will be handled by the Police Department.
This morning and today at dismissal, police officers are working to be present in as many locations as possible in order to provide a safe environment for our scholars and families. School district faculty and staff continue to be watchful around campuses as our scholars commute to and from school. We are urging every family to be watchful not only of their own children, but also of their neighbors. If you see something suspicious, call the police immediately. The safety of our scholars requires a community effort.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Raymond Sanchez
Chief Kevin Sylvester
Police said on Facebook that a decision would be made when appropriate about whether the alleged adult's identity would be made public.
