Students, Community Mourn Ossining High Schooler Killed in Crash

She was 19.

Veronica Chacho-Morocho, who died Monday in a car crash on the Taconic Parkway, is being mourned by family, friends and the Ossining school community.

Ossining Superintendent Ray Sanchez sent out this note:

counseling to our students, staff, and families. She will be greatly missed by the students and

staff who were fortunate to know her. As always, the District will continue to support our

students, staff, and families.

The accident occurred early in the morning of May 11.

State police said she was northbound on the Taconic State Parkway when she left the roadway and hit a tree. They are still seeking information about the crash at (914) 769-2600.

Visiting hours will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Ossining Funeral Home, 45 South Highland Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Saint Ann’s Church on Eastern Avenue.
