'Tis The Time Of Year To Support Baker-Collyer

OSSINING, NY — The Baker-Collyer Christmas Cheer Fund, which was started by an Ossining merchant who witnessed two children picking through a garbage pile for food 103 years ago, has started to solicit contributions for this year’s drive.

More than 360 needy families in the Ossining area were aided through last year’s generous community efforts.

The fund goes solely to purchase food for the holiday baskets. The administration efforts are handled by volunteers and the baskets are packed and delivered by members of the Ossining Volunteer Fire Department and other community members.
