Tony Bosco: Volunteer Fire Official

Anthony J. Bosco, Jr. of Ossining, NY died on December 20, 2013. He was 76.

Tony worked as a financial analyst for IBM for over thirty years before retiring.

He was born September 21, 1937 in Peekskill and was raised in Garrison, son of Anthony J. Bosco, Sr. and Lucy Fraher. He was a graduate of Fairfield University and received his master’s degree from Iona College.

Mr. Bosco served in the National Guard during the 1960’s. On May 12, 1962 he married Kathleen Kay in Hartsdale.

Anthony lived in Ossining since 1966. He was an active parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor where he served as a Eucharist Minister.

He was deeply involved with volunteer firefighting: Life active member of the Ossining Fire Dept., Independent Hose Co. #6. Served as a Deputy Fire Coordinator for Westchester County, member of the Westchester County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association, the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York and the NYS Association of Fire Chaplains, where he had served all organizations in officership roles.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, one daughter Laurie, one granddaughter Morriah, one sister Judy Meyer and several nephews. Predeceased by son Greg.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 23rd, at St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor. Interment  will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Ossining.

In lieu of flowers donations to the FASNY Firemen’s Home, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson, NY 12534.
