U.S. Justice Department Probes Sing Sing Beating Allegations: Report
A lawsuit alleges 27 prisoners were injured, some hospitalized, during a 2-day lockdown in November, the New York Times reported.

OSSINING, NY — Twenty-six inmates are suing the state of New York over an incident at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in November during which special teams of corrections officers are accused of systematically beating prisoners, the New York Times reported.
The allegations are under investigation by the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, the newspaper said.
The prisoners were cited for infractions, but in one instance, a hearing officer did not believe the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision's account, according to the article.
