Victoria Gearity Is Everyone's Mayor
"We appreciate her transparency and concern for all Ossining residents, regardless of race, sexual orientation, or documentation status."

Did everyone get to see the Ossining school district’s “This is Me” video on YouTube? It celebrates the diversity and possibilities of Ossining’s young people. I had the opportunity to sit down with my husband and daughter today and watch it. Needless to say, we feel inspired, proud, and at ease by what we saw.
Inspired because there are great things happening in Ossining. New businesses and cultural activities and events are popping up all over the place.
Proud because we get to call Ossining home everyday.

At ease because our well-being, and my daughter’s education, are in good hands. We can rest easy.
You see, only a little over a year ago our family was days away from signing the paperwork on a lovely home in a different town. But we couldn't bear the thought of leaving this amazing village--its beauty, its diversity, its possibilities. We loved what Mayor Gearity was doing, and we wanted to see what was next.

It’s a fantastic feat to be the only municipality in Westchester with a Civilian Police Complaint Review Board and to have all patrol officers equipped with body cameras. It is great to have open hours access to our mayor to talk about our concerns and queries. Municipal facilities are more welcoming to everyone because of the gender-neutral signage on some bathrooms. We appreciate the transparency and the concern for all Ossining residents. AllOssining residents, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, documentation status.
My husband is a proud immigrant who knows that Ossining is a safe place for him to share his story because of the work the Mayor and others have achieved. And it's great to know that Victoria is fighting for New York State to license all drivers; I think that initiative is a win-win for both drivers and law enforcement everywhere.
Tomorrow, I will be voting to re-elect Mayor Gearity for another term. She understands and protects the diversity in our Village. There are good things happening in Ossining, and I believe she is the person to keep the progress going!
