Nino D. Benedetti of Ossining died June 14, 2015, he was 90.
He was born in L’Aguila in the Abruzzo region of Italy on Sept. 8, 1924 to Massimo & Angela (Palma) Benedetti. Nino was an Italian veteran of WWII and champion bocce player. He immigrated to Ossining in 1966 with his family.
He enjoyed spending time tilling his garden, playing bocce with his friends at Veterans Park, listening to opera and backyard picnics with his family. He retired from Phelps Memorial Hospital as a maintenance engineer.

He is survived by his wife Angela, adult children Massimo (Cheryl), Gina Andress, Gilda, Fausto, and grandchildren, Anthony, Jenny, Amanda, Juliana as well as many brothers and sisters in Italy.
He will be reposing Tues. 2-4 & 6-8pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining, interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Kidney Foundation appreciated.
