Visitation, Service for Anthony D’Agostino

Mr. D'Agostino was born in Ossining in 1917.

OSSINING, NY — Anthony D’Agostino of Ossining passed away peacefully, on Friday, June 2, 2017 in the home he built for his wife and family. Anthony was born on April 17, 1917 in Ossining and was the son of the late Salvatore and Christina (Carota) D’Agostino.

Tony recently celebrated his 100th birthday, in April, surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed a long career as a General Contractor, Licensed Electrician, and Licensed Plumber, working well into his 90’s and building over 30 houses in the Ossining area.

Mr. D’Agostino was a veteran of WWII and an Active member of the American Legion Post 506 since 1947, where he was a Past Commander 5 times. He was a Past County Commander in Westchester County and a three time Chairman of the Town of Ossining Central Committee of War Veterans. He was an active parishioner of St. Ann’s Church since 1942 when he married Sarah Leary.

Mr. D’Agostino is survived by 9 of his 10 children; his daughter in law Eliza; 22 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Sarah; his son Anthony; and his 3 brothers, Nick, Libra, and Lenny.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Dorsey Funeral Home, Ossining. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Ann’s Church in Ossining. The interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
