On April 1, 2019, Dylan Ian Pettus passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 26. Dylan,
who was fondly referred to as “Dyl” and “DIP” was born on January 28, 1993 to his loving and
devoted parents Cynthia and Kenneth Pettus, and gifted as a baby brother to Kenneth Lloyd at
Phelps Memorial Hospital, in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Dylan, was a spirited young man who was grounded in faith and passionate about life. He loved
his family and his greatest desire was to make his parents happy and keep them smiling. Dylan
was also very charming and would often greet the women in his life with endearing names such
as darling and dear, his comedic sense of humor and personality lit up every room.

Dylan attended Ossining High School where he enjoyed basketball and football. As a
committed JETS fan, Dylan remained loyal and optimistic despite their track record. Loyalty and
optimism captured the essence of who Dylan was, in addition to his creative niche for fashion.
Dylan was a people person and his charm and charisma will be dearly missed. He was a
beaming source of positivity, and he enjoyed social interactions, meeting new people and
making everyone laugh. His personable manner was evident through his work as a barista at
coffee shops, a server at the Boathouse restaurant in Ossining and as a mailer at The New York
Times.

A lover of fashion, Dylan was always dressed in his “Sunday Best” everyday of the week. He
had a very trendy style and took sewing and leather craftsmanship classes to further develop
his creative talent. His goal was to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and someday
create his own clothing line. He enjoyed browsing around second hand clothing stores looking
for the perfect vintage piece to complement his look, which often included a bow tie, vibrant
colors, suspenders and colorful socks.

In addition to loving fashion, Dylan was very passionate about music. He was a big fan of music
producers like Kanye West and Metro Boomin. DIP had the ability to take command of a dance
floor at the drop of a beat, and fellow party goers would circle and watch in awe as he would
seamlessly pull off the latest dance moves with style and grace. Dyl would also be happy to
teach you how to perfect dance moves.

Dylan is survived by his parents, Cynthia and Kenneth Sr., his older brother Kenneth Lloyd,
aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Dyl, we will always remember your smile, your laugh, your charisma, and your love for family.
Our hearts are heavy and we mourn your loss, but find comfort and strength through faith
knowing that you are a child of God who has prepared a place for you in his kingdom. You have
taught us so much and forced us to recognize the importance of not taking anyone or anything
for granted. You are now another angel watching over us all. WE LOVE YOU.
