Visitation, Service For George P. Dahlke

The Ossining resident will be buried at St. Augustine's Cemetery.

George P. Dahlke, 84, of Ossining, New York, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Phelps
Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Shirley
(Pearson) Dahlke, his son, Lawrence T. Dahlke and his wife, Susan (Faiella) Dahlke, his
daughter, Mary E. Foley and son, David J. Dahlke and his partner, Barbara Palombo, and his
grandson, Thomas Dahlke as well as a niece and three nephews.

Born in Verplanck, New York, he was raised in Ossining by his parents, George J. Dahlke and Elizabeth (Leggett) Dahlke. In his early years he worked for the railroad at Croton-Harmon. He was also a member of the National Guard serving from 1953 to 1962. He worked at County Asphalt in Tarrytown before becoming an engineer and working for New York Telephone until his retirement. Mr Dahlke was an avid golfer, enjoying many rounds with family and friends. He was a die-hard Mets fan for 57 years.

The viewing will take place at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining, Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm. A small service will be held there on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10:00 at Dorsey, followed by the burial at St. Augustine's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online.
