Visitation, Service for Henry Nibbe Sr.

Henry D. Nibbe, Sr., a resident of Ossining for 53 years passed away on Thursday , January 14, 2016. Henry was born in Brooklyn on December 13, 1926 and was the son of Henry and Henrietta (Blank) Nibbe, he was 89.

Henry was a graduate of Hastings High School class of 1945. He then served in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a Motor Machinist. He married Dolores Murphy on December 18, 1949 at St. Anthony’s Church in Yonkers.

Henry was employed with Mt. Hope Cemetery for over 60 years and served on its Board of Directors in recent years.

Mr. Nibbe is survived by his five children, Lori (Bob, Jr.) Lamb, Henry Jr. (Debbie),Thomas (Sonia), Barbara (Tim) Bushell and Jennifer; his sister Henrietta McGowan; eight grandchildren, Jesse and Douglas Ryan, Gregory Lamb, Brianna, Sophie and Sierra Nibbe, Michele and T.J. Bushell. He was predeceased by his wife Dolores on December 9, 2013 and his sister Helen Powers.

Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey on Sunday from 7-9 pm and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Augustine’s Church, 381 N. Highland Ave., Ossining. The interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
