
Julianne Long (Masarech), born January 25, 1938, died August 23, 2016. Surrounded by her family and the loving embrace of the Rosary Hill Dominican Sisters, Julianne passed away peacefully to join her late husband, John.
She was born in North Tarrytown, the eldest of two daughters, of Julie Thomas Masarech and John Masarech. Julianne married John William Long, son of Blanche Miller Long and Jack Long at the Second Reformed Church in Tarrytown.
Julianne was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a local artist who sold her oil paintings and batiks at art shows in the Hudson Valley.

She raised two children in Ossining, New York, nearby her and John’s families in Tarrytown. Julianne made her home a center for her children and their friends and delighted in watching them grow. She was a special person who believed in family and reinforced in her children that almost anything was achievable.
She loved music and animals.

Julianne was pre-deceased by her husband, her parents, her in-laws, her sister Elizabeth Manna-Hausler and her son-in-law Robert Messina. She is survived by: her children Evelyn Messina and Julia Fonseca-Dart; her son-in-law Duane Dart; eight grandchildren: Candice Messina, Kathrine Messina, Tiffany Messina, Michelle Messina, Elizabeth Fonseca, Alexander Fonseca, Morgan Dart and Taylor Dart; four great-grandsons; her sister-in-law Helen Long; her brother-in-law James Hausler, as well as, many nieces and nephews and her extended family.
She will be reposing Monday, August 29, 2016 9:30am to 11:30am at Leach & Thomas, Inc., 32 State Street, Ossining. Mass will follow at 12:00pm at St. Augustine’s Church, burial Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
Donations can be made in her name to Rosary Hill, 600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
