
Felice J. Tavano, (Phil), a former longtime resident of Ossining, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, in Coconut Creek, FL. Phil was born in Ossining on February 24, 1917 and was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Minniti) Tavano. He was 99.
Felice was a graduate of Ossining High School with the class of 1935. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II and he served throughout Europe. Phil worked for the U.S. Post Office in Ossining for 36 years retiring as Superintendent of Mails.
Phil was predeceased by his first wife, Antoinette, who passed away on October 10, 1975. Mr. Tavano moved to Coconut Creek, FL. in 1994. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and dancing with his wife Rose.
Phil is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rose; his 3 children Suzanne, Philip and Anthony; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 2 step-children Marie and Jeanette and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc.14 Emwilton Pl., Ossining. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 23, 2016 at 10 am at St. Ann’s Church in Ossining. The interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
