Visitation, Service for Sam Trapasso

The Ossining WWII vet was 95.

Sam Trapasso of Ossining died Oct. 1, 2015, he was 95.

He was born Nov. 24, 1919 in Highland Falls to Louis & Serafina Trapasso.

Sam served 4 ½ years in the Army during WWII as a Tech. Sgt. In the 9th Infantry Division. He was captured in 1944 by the Germans and held captive until the end of the war. He received 12 medals including the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Sam was pre-deceased by his son Anthony who died in 1952 and 14 siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Rotella Trapasso, daughter Sandra Thomas, grandson Joseph Thomas and sister Louise Merante.

Sam will be reposing Sun. 2-5pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of Christian Burial Mon. 10am at St. Ann’s Church, interment private.
