We Will Vote for Mayor Gearity on November 8

Victoria shares our vision of Ossining: a richly diverse community that welcomes people of all backgrounds and beliefs.

We support Mayor Gearity’s candidacy for re-election as Mayor of the Village of Ossining.

My wife Stephanie and I have been residents of Ossining for nearly 30 years. What attracted us to the village, besides the wonderful architecture and breathtaking river views, was the diversity of the population and sense of inclusion that we felt from our first days here.

During this time we raised two sons. Our feeling of belonging to this community, and being accepted, only increased as we befriended families from all backgrounds while our children navigated through the schools in their journey towards adulthood.

We have seen a lot of changes in Ossining as our kids grew up: Neighbors moved out and new faces arrived to take their place. But we have always felt this same inclusion. Victoria has always made us feel that she shares this vision of what Ossining is: a richly diverse community that welcomes people of different cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and beliefs.

We’ve always found Victoria extremely accessible. Her open office hours give everyone a chance to share opinions and concerns. It is comforting to know that Victoria is listening to the community and using what she hears to help shape her vision as Mayor.

The village of Ossining has seen a rebound in small business during her tenure, with many new restaurants and shops rich in culture, from South America and beyond. This sense that everyone belongs here is what makes Ossining great. We look forward to voting for Mayor Gearity in the general election on November 8.
