Welcome Video Is Ossining Back-to-School Tradition

Love AMD's theme for the year: Be brave enough for change.

OSSINING, NY — Ossining schools superintendent Ray Sanchez posts a "welcome back" video on the district's YouTube channel every year a couple of weeks before school starts Sept. 2.

Sometimes it's funny (think "Mr. Sanchez' Neighborhood" from 2019), but this year it's simple: up-close and inspirational.

"We have a lot of exciting things prepared," Sanchez said. But first, he sent out heartfelt thanks to everyone for all the hard work they put in during the pandemic.

Then he turned it over to the building principals and assistant principals, whose smiles were as bright as the sunny day on which the video was shot.

One standout: this year's theme for Anne M. Dorner Middle School: "Be brave enough for change."
