Westchester Musicians Unite to Raise Funds for Hurricane Relief

Rock2Rebuild Event Sunday, October 22

On Sunday, October 22 at Shenorock Shore Club located at 475 Stuyvesant Avenue, Rye, New York, a group of New York’s most talented and generous musicians will gather to raise money for hurricane relief. This year’s hurricane season has been particularly devastating. So far, four major hurricanes have caused catastrophic damage and loss of life on major portions of the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and US Eastern Seaboard.

In response, the Rock2Rebuild team has mobilized once again, as a stellar lineup of bands and renowned musicians take the stage for another day of live music and fundraising—this time, to benefit those whose lives were directly affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. Rock2Rebuild.org is a charitable organization founded by local residents and musicians Andy Bodnar and Rob Biggers in 2005. Their first event was staged to raise donations for victims of the massive tsunami in Indonesia that claimed more than 230,000 lives in 14 countries. The October 22nd event will feature musical homage to The Band, the Grateful Dead, and The Allman Brothers, and also will include several bands comprised of local and regional high school musicians. The all-star lineup of bands and musicians will include: The Band Jam: An acoustic foursome that delivers a wonderful mix of the best of The Band’s most popular songs. The Dog Star Band: A collection of seasoned 'dedicated' musicians with a deep repertoire and that classic 70's Grateful Dead sound. The Brothers of the Road Band: America’s longest-running tribute to The Allman Brothers Band and Dickie Betts. The Mike Risko Band: Fronted by Mike and Miriam Risko (guitar and vocals), owners of the award winning Mike Risko Music School and Store in Ossining, their set spans the decades and focuses on pop, rock and jam band hits.

The event, which will take place between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on October 22nd, will feature multiple stages throughout the Club; a 50/50 raffle, food and a full bar will be available for purchase and of course, on-site parking. Admission is $40 per person and $10 for students. Larger donations are welcome.
