Ossining, NY — A Yonkers man pleaded guilty Monday in the death of an Ossining man.
Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty said Joaquin Recinos Garcia, 28, of Riverdale Avenue, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, a felony.
Around 6:40 a.m., August 24, 2015, a jogger running along Route 133 in the Town of Ossining found the decomposing body of Luis Blanco, 62, of Yonkers.

An autopsy determined Blanco had been stabbed multiple times in the head, neck and torso. He also had a bullet wound to the back of his head.
An investigation by the Ossining Police Department, the Yonkers Police Department, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and the Westchester County Department of Laboratories and Research found that Garcia owed Blanco money.

Blanco was supposed to meet with Garcia August 19, 2015, the day he went missing.
The investigation also determined that Garcia, along with an unindicted co-conspirator, picked Blanco up in his Ford SUV in Yonkers August 19, 2015.
Police said Garcia told Blanco that he could not pay him, and when Blanco threatened to tell Garcia’s employer, Garcia pulled out a screwdriver and demanded Blanco hand over all his valuables.
Garcia then stabbed Blanco multiple times, and the other man in the back seat of the SUV shot Blanco once in the back of the head.
Garcia was arrested by Ossining police September 18, 2015.
He is still in jail and faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life without parole.
Garcia is due to be sentenced September 8, 2016.
