Town of Oyster Bay to Host Job Fair for People with All Abilities on Oct. 5th (longisland.com) — The Town of Oyster Bay is hosting its 2026 Talent Connection Job Expo on Monday, October 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage. Designed for people of all abilities, the fair will connect local job seekers with recruiters across multiple industries, with support from regional disability and workforce organizations.

More Thank 6K Still Without Power Across LI Monday Morning: PSEG (patch.com) — Oyster Bay is among the hardest-hit areas after a powerful nor'easter knocked out electricity to thousands across Long Island, with more than 6,700 customers still without power early Monday. PSEG Long Island crews are working 16-hour shifts to restore service, prioritizing safety around downed wires and warning residents to avoid flooded areas and use generators properly.
4. Workers Free Kittens From Shredder That Could Have 'Obliterated' Them in Dramatic Rescue Video (pulptastic.com) — Three newborn kittens were saved from an industrial shredder at a Town of Oyster Bay maintenance yard after workers heard their cries and quickly dismantled the machine. Bellmore rescuer John Debacker documented the tense rescue and says the kittens are now safe with a bottle feeder and will be put up for adoption when they're older.

Billy Joel Has Closed His Motorcycle Museum And Is Selling More Than 70 Of His Incredible Bikes, Check Them Out (theautopian.com) — Billy Joel's now-closed 20th Century Cycles museum in Oyster Bay is the backdrop for a major charity auction of more than 70 motorcycles and other vehicles. While the sale happens in Manhattan, it marks the end of a distinctive Oyster Bay attraction that showcased Joel's custom and vintage bikes for local visitors since 2010.
