1. Oyster Bay weighing final approvals for $200M Hicksville mall redevelopment (newsday.com) — Town of Oyster Bay officials are nearing a crucial vote on zoning variances for a $200 million overhaul of Hicksville's Broadway Mall into an open-air Shops on Broadway center. Neighbors and civic leaders are weighing in on parking cuts, late-night hours, building height, and a new BJ's with gas station, as the zoning board targets an October 22 decision that could reshape shopping and traffic patterns.
2. Senior IDs available in Oyster Bay (liherald.com) — Oyster Bay residents aged 60 and over can get a free senior ID card on Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oyster Bay Community Center on Church Street. 3. The history of the Youth and Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay (liherald.com) — For decades, the Youth and Family Counseling Agency of Oyster Bay has provided local families with mental health counseling, mentoring, early-childhood support, and free clothing through its Community Closet. 4. Oyster Bay High School student-athletes receive NY School of Distinction recognition (longislandpress.com) — Oyster Bay High School's varsity teams have again earned New York's School of Distinction honor, meaning every fall, winter, and spring varsity team achieved a 90% GPA or higher. 5.
