This year the Nassau Zone Outstanding Physical Education Award for outstanding leadership, achievement and citizenship went to two Oyster Bay High School athletes, Thomas Kelly and Joanna Sugar. The Zone award recipients exemplify and demonstrate an understanding of the New York State Learning Standards for Health and Physical Education by exhibiting a physically active lifestyle, both during and outside of school. The award winners also demonstrate leadership, are a positive influence on their peers, exhibit and value a healthy lifestyle and lifelong learning.
