Brother Of ‘Vulnerable’ Missing East Norwich Woman Speaks Out, Search Continues: 'We Just Want Her Home Safe'
He clarifies language on the flyer and details of the night she was reported missing. A GoFundMe was launched to raise funds for a PI.

OYSTER BAY, NY — Almost a week later, the search has intensified for an East Norwich woman who was reported missing and last seen on March 20 in Oyster Bay, police said.
Nassau County police said Brittany Kritis, 32, was last seen on foot on March 20 at 8 p.m. in Oyster Bay and was reported to police at 8:30 p.m.
Brittany's brother, an Oyster Bay resident, Niko Kritis, said right now, the most impactful way the public can help is by checking their private property. Her family is specifically asking people to check places, such as sheds, garages, under decks, pool or boat covers, storm cellars, or any enclosed or tucked-away spaces where someone could take shelter.

"Those small, careful actions could be what brings Brittany home," he said. "We believe Brittany may be trying to isolate or avoid contact, and it’s possible she could be sheltering in secluded or hidden areas."
He also encourages residents to check security footage, including Ring cameras, or anyone who has noticed anything unusual to come forward and contact authorities.

Although some of the early flyers that are circulating use certain language, Niko said it was not the best way to represent the state they believe her to be in at this time.
"We want to clarify that Brittany should be considered a vulnerable person," he said. "In the earliest stages, we were trying to move quickly while still learning and processing what was happening. What we do know is that Brittany may be disoriented and frightened, and she is not dangerous. She is in need of help, and our priority is bringing her home safely."
Brittany is described as a white woman, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, approximately 140 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes, police said. She was last seen wearing black pants and a black jacket with a fur collar, NCPD said.
To clear up any confusion on the topic of Brittany jumping out of a family member's car the night she was reported missing, he said:
"She hopped out unexpectedly after pulling forward after a stop sign," he said. "We are still actively pulling together the videos of the path she ran."
Sister-in-law Jess Kritis said Brittany's wallet was found on Florence Ave. in Oyster Bay, and the last footage seen of Brittany is from Friday at 8:14 p.m. She also said Brittany "thinks she’s being tracked and in danger, reason she ditched her phone."
"We are continuing to work closely with local police to piece together her timeline," Niko said. "There is no single confirmed area at this time, which is why awareness across Oyster Bay and surrounding communities remains critical."
Above all, Niko wants his sister home safely and soon.
"Brittany is one of the kindest, most loving, and considerate people you could ever meet," Niko said. "She lights up the lives of everyone around her, and we are deeply worried. We just want her home safe."
A GoFundMe has been organized by a friend, Sarah, to assist the family in their search efforts. The organizer shared that all funds raised will go toward hiring a licensed private investigator, search-related expenses, and any additional resources that may be needed to help locate Brittany.
As the neighboring communities rally in support by search parties, social media efforts, word of mouth, and via the GoFundMe, Niko said it has not gone unnoticed.
"The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful," he said. "At the same time, coordinating efforts at this scale has been challenging, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigate this."
Anyone with information regarding the above Missing Person can contact the NCPD Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911, police said. All callers will remain anonymous, police said.
