Cops: Furnace Causes Bayville House Fire
No injuries reported; furnace overheated, cops report.

A fire broke out at a Bayville home Thursday morning, cops said.
Nassau County Police reported a call at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday for a fire at a University Road home in Bayville.
Fire departments arrived to secure the scene and reported the fire had been caused by a furnace that had overheated, cops said.

The fire had reportedly consumed the interior and exterior eastern walls around the furnace, police reported.
Atlantic Steamer and Locust Valley Fire Department also responded to the scene, according to Bayville fire officials.

No one was injured in the fire, police said.
Outbound Bayville Park Boulevard traffic was diverted up Violet Road to allow for a hydrant line, according to the Bayville Fire Company #1 Facebook page.
