A Glen Head, who worked as a subcontractor of Asplundh for PSEG, obtained copper wire through a false inventory materials request, and then sold the wire as scrap, authorities said.
Nassau County Police say Michael Jayne, 31, submitted the request for 300 feet of copper wire to the warehouse supervisor at the Hicksville PSEG Yard at 175 E. Old Country Road. After obtaining the wire, valued at $4,870, Jayne sold it as scrap at a scrap yard.
Jayne was arrested at the Hicksville PSEG Yard without incident on Thursday at 4 p.m., police said.
