Housekeeper Drowns in North Shore Pool

Woman, 30, discovered at bottom of pool in Upper Brookville.

A 30-year-old housekeeper was discovered at the bottom of a swimming pool in Upper Brookville late Friday night in what police described as an apparent accident.

detectives are investigating a drowning that occurred  Friday about 11 p.m.

Old Brookville Police officers responded to a call for help from Carol Lane and upon arrival could see the woman at the bottom of the pool.

Officers dove into the water and pulled the unconscious victim to the surface. They immediately began CPR.

Norwich Fire Department Ambulance responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a staff physician at 11:32 p.m.

Police said the woman was employed as a housekeeper at the residence. Identification is being withheld pending family notification. 

Detectives report no apparent criminality at this time and have determined the drowning to be accidental.
