NYIT Professor Accused of Placing Camera in Bathroom Found Dead in NYC Home: Police
The anatomy professor was arrested last week.

HARLEM, NY — A New York Institute of Technology professor facing charges for planting a camera in a bathroom at the school's Old Westbury Campus was found dead in his Harlem apartment Thursday night, an NYPD spokesperson told Harlem Patch.
Jackie Conrad, 39, was found dead at his apartment on Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. near W. 138th St. at about 6 p.m., police said. Conrad, a professor in the anatomy department, was arrested on Wednesday, July 13 by the Old Westbury Police Department and was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance.
The medical examiner's office is still investigating Conrad's cause of death, police said.

The Old Westbury Police Department said they responded to a report of a recording device inside a handicap-accessible bathroom, on the third floor of the Kenneth Riland Building, and discovered the device was a pen camera that had the capability of recording at 12:50 p.m. Police say they connected Conrad to the incident and placed him under arrest.
He was scheduled to appear in court again on July 28.
