NYIT Professor Planted Recording Device in Campus Bathroom: Police
The camera was found inside a handicap-accessible bathroom on the Old Westbury campus Wednesday, police say.

OLD WESTBURY, NY— A New York Institute of Technology professor was arrested Wednesday after police say he planted a camera disguised as a pen inside a bathroom at the Old Westbury campus.
The Old Westbury Police Department says they responded to a report of a recording device inside a handicap-accessible bathroom, on the third floor of the Kenneth Riland Building, and discovered the device was a pen camera that had the capability of recording at 12:50 p.m.
Jackie L. Conrad, 39, of New York City, was placed under arrest following an investigation. Conrad, who is employed by NYIT as a professor in the anatomy department, was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance.

He was held at Nassau County Police Department detention facility and was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Any students or staff members at NYIT-Old Westbury who may have used this handicap-accessible bathroom on Wednesday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. are encouraged to contact the Old Westbury Police Department.
