OBEN Superintendent Ushers in October

Dr. Phyllis Harrington reminds community of Red Ribbon Week, Spirit Week, and Theodore Roosevelt's birthday.

In her monthly message, Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District Superintendent Phyllis Harrington sent out several reminders about the busy month of October. Some notes from the message include:

  • The upcoming board of education meeting will focus on health and wellness, the Dignity for All Students Act, new nutrition regulations, and a summary of work being done by a safety committee.
  • OBEN Spirit Week is the first week of October, concluding Saturday for Homecoming at 7 p.m. when the Baymen take on the Malverne Mules.
  • Red Ribbon Week is Oct. 22-26 to raise awareness for drug and alcohol use.
  • The Oyster Festival is
  • Oyster Bay's own Theodore Roosevelt's 154th birthday is Oct. 27.
