Oyster Bay-East Norwich Schools Among 100 Best Places to Teach in New York

Niche.com names the 100 Best Places to Teach in New York.

Where are the best New York school districts to teach? 2015 rankings by Niche.com, a company which researches data on public and private K-12 schools, has answered that question, using information about teacher salary, experience and attendance. The rankings also take into consideration the districts' academic, safety and resources.

Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District came in at No. 44 on the list. Nearby school districts, Locust Valley and North Shore, came in at No. 56 and No. 15, respectively.

"A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers who are offered excellent support and compensation," according to Niche.com.

The website says the ranking provides a "comprehensive assessment of the quality, support, and compensation a district provides to its teachers."

The list was created using data form various government and public sources, as well as opinion-based survey responses from current students, recent alumni and parents.
