1. Town partners with community group to collect peanut butter (jericho-news-journal.com) — Starting October 1, Oyster Bay residents can drop off jars of peanut butter and alternative nut butters at Town Hall North on Audrey Avenue to support local food pantries. The town is partnering with the Massapequa Farmingdale Men's Club on this drive, which runs through November 15 and helps meet one of food banks' most requested needs for families.
   

2. Town of Oyster Bay dedicates day to Veteran Suicide Awareness and Remembrance (liherald.com) — Oyster Bay has officially designated September 22 as Veterans Suicide Awareness and Remembrance Day, honoring local advocate and Air Force veteran Kevin Hertell and his work supporting those in crisis. The town will raise the Suicide Awareness & Remembrance Flag at both Town Hall North and South, while reminding residents that veterans can call 988, option 1, for immediate mental health support.
   

3. Re-Clam the Bay initiative continues in Oyster Bay with third clam drop (liherald.com) — Oyster Bay's Friends of the Bay just completed a third major "Re-Clam the Bay" drop, adding another 20,000 hard-shell clams to local sanctuaries in Oyster Bay Harbor, Mill Neck Creek, and Cold Spring Harbor. Supported by the town and local marinas, the project aims to restore shellfish populations, improve water quality, and is already fundraising to expand efforts next spring.
   

4. High school roundup: Boys and girls soccer, field hockey, boys golf, girls volleyball and boys badminton (newsday.com) — Oyster Bay girls soccer dropped to 0-5 after a 5–3 loss to Friends Academy, despite a goal from Mary Woodstock in Nassau A/B-II play. The roundup also highlights other Long Island high school results, giving Oyster Bay fans context on how neighboring teams are performing across soccer, field hockey, golf, volleyball, and badminton.
   

5. Town of Oyster Bay Collects 80 Pints of Blood at Collection Drive to Help Save Lives (longisland.com) — Oyster Bay residents helped collect 80 pints of blood at a recent town-sponsored drive at the Hicksville Athletic Center, potentially saving up to 240 lives. With the New York Blood Center declaring an emergency shortage, town officials are urging locals to keep donating and offering an online tool to quickly find nearby appointments.
