Residents Sound Off on Shore Road Safety

Pedestrian safety has come into question after Nassau County legislators decided not to include a bike lane and sidewalk along West Shore Road in Oyster Bay.

According to the Committee for a Safe West Shore Road, the plan to add extra room for pedestrians was not included because of a "community concern."

Does West Shore Road need a bike lane and sidewalk? Is there enough room for pedestrians to safely travel along the road or has it become too treacherous? Are there any alternatives that could be considered?
