Second-Graders Turn Storytime Into Pajama Drive
Oyster Bay-East Norwich Students collected more than 50 pairs of PJs.

OYSTER BAY-EAST NORWICH, NY — Second-grade students at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School turned a classroom lesson into a cozy act of kindness for children in need.
After reading The Practically Perfect Pajamas by Erik Brooks, all second-grade classes created a community service project inspired by the book's theme.
Students in Ms. Cavuto's class chose to hold a pajama drive to help children in need – children who may not have cozy sleepwear of their own.

They worked with the librarian, Ms. McGee, music teacher Ms. Murphy, and art teacher Ms. Brustman, to organize the drive to benefit EJ's PJs.
The drive launched on Jan. 12, and the class collected more than 50 pairs of pajamas for EJ's PJs to pick up last week.
