Tell Us: Supreme Court Rulings

DOMA or Voter Rights: which was a more important ruling to you?

The Supreme Court of the United States made two critical rulings on Wednesday on gay rights and voter rights.

In one ruling, SCOTUS said the federal government could not deny legally married same-sex couples the same benefits as heterosexual couples. Locals have called the ruling a victory and a significant step in the gay rights movement.

In another ruling, the nine judges ruled to allow nine predominantly southern states to change election laws without advanced approval from the federal government. The decision shocked some, like Leg. Judy Jacobs, who said it was a frightening step backward and went against progress.

Which ruling from Wednesday is more important to you? Do you agree with each ruling? What do you think it means for the country's future? Tell us in the comments!
