UPDATE: Attempted Rape Near Prospect Ave. Subway Station

Cops believe the man to be a serial rapist, according to reports

UPDATE: 1:40 p.m., Sept. 2: The NYPD has released a new sketch of the man believed to have approached a woman from behind as she walked home from the Prospect Ave on Friday Aug. 26. The suspect fondled the woman's chest then tried to bring her to the ground, but ran off when she started to scream, according to cops.

 

A woman was attacked by a suspected rapist as she walked home from the Prospect Avenue subway station, according to the Daily News.

The frightening encounter occured just after 8:30 p.m. on Friday as the woman was walking near Prospect and Sixth aves, the report said.

The man—who cops believe to be the same suspected sex fiend who has preyed on women in Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights and Bay Ridge since March—grabbed the unsuspecting woman from behind.

She was able to fight him off and break free, getting away unharmed.

Now cops are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect, described in the report as an Hispanic man between 25 and 30 years old, standing 5-feet-7 and weighing about 165 pounds.
