PARK SLOPE, NY — Brooklyn fried chicken fans, rejoice: Williamsburg favorite Pies ‘n’ Thighs is opening a new location in Park Slope.

The upcoming Pies ‘n’ Thighs location at 224 Flatbush Avenue, in the former space previously occupied by Taro Sushi and Pecking House, was first reported by The Infatuation and confirmed by owner Sarah Sanneh on social media.

Park Slope locals may recognize Sanneh as the co-owner of Heaps Ice Cream, which she runs with Matt Lieber and opened last fall at 171 7th Avenue.

Pies ’n’ Thighs has been a Brooklyn favorite since opening in 2006 under the Williamsburg Bridge, serving crispy fried chicken, buttery biscuits and giant donuts from a tiny kitchen inside a dive bar.

The spot has earned widespread acclaim, with The New York Times calling it “easy to love once found,” and accolades from Bon Appétit and New York Magazine, including Best Fried Chicken, Best Apple Pie, and Best Donut.

Over the years, it has remained a beloved staple in the neighborhood. According to the restaurant’s website, even Martha Stewart visited and called the fried chicken “the best I’ve ever had,” a point of pride for Sanneh.

The Southern comfort food eatery previously opened a location on the Lower East Side near Essex and Canal, offering a scaled-down version of the Williamsburg menu. However, that spot closed less than two years later.

The new Park Slope location is expected to open later this year, but an official timeline was not provided.
