Brooklyn Players Community Musical Theater is proud to present its fourth annual production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Directed by Broadway Veteran and Park Slope Resident, Valerie Wright, with Music Direction by Aya Kato and Choreographic Adaptation by Grace Phelan.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, the beloved musical by Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Joseph Stein was originally produced on Broadway in 1964. The musical, set in Tsarist Russia in 1905 is based on stories by Sholem Aleichem. The story weaves universal themes of family, tradition, assimilation and generational change amidst the beauty and soul of Jewish culture. Tevye the Dairyman copes with life with humor and sorrow as the forces of anti-semitism affect all in the Village of Anatevka.
BPCMT's production of FIDDLER is appropriate for all ages who can sit through and enjoy a 2 1/2 hour long Broadway production!
