Learn practical tools to immediately apply to storytelling, public speaking, creative projects, and everyday communication.
This class meets two Sundays in August:&nbsp;8/16, 8/23 –&nbsp;1:15pm - 3pm.&nbsp;One ticket purchase enrolls you for the length of the session (both meetings). Class has 12 students max. Sign ups close 8/9.
This workshop is designed for beginners and anyone interested in learning how to tell engaging personal stories. Participants will learn a simple storytelling framework, hear examples, workshop a story of their own, and receive supportive feedback in a warm and encouraging environment.&nbsp; Together, we'll explore how to find stronger stories, make them more specific, create an emotional connection, and continue developing them long after the workshop ends.&nbsp;
CLASS ONE will address&nbsp;The Four Key Elements of Telling a Story, and&nbsp;CLASS TWO will be our&nbsp;Story Workshop &amp; Feedback Session.
Please note:&nbsp;Attendance at Class One is required to participate in Class Two.
Adam Wade is a&nbsp;20-time Moth StorySLAM&nbsp;winner, writer, performer, and storytelling instructor. He is the creator of the&nbsp;#1 bestselling Audible Original&nbsp;memoir&nbsp;You Ought to Know Adam Wade.&nbsp; Since 2010, Adam has taught storytelling to more than 4,000 students through his classes at New York City's&nbsp;Magnet Theater&nbsp;and has led workshops for organizations including the&nbsp;United Nations, Apple, Google, IBM, PEN America, and&nbsp;The New York Times.&nbsp; His debut storytelling album,&nbsp;Adam Wade: The Human Comedy, was praised in Sarah Larson's profile of him in&nbsp;The New Yorker. His follow-up album,&nbsp;Adam Wade Live at the Magnet Theater, reached #2 on the&nbsp;Billboard Comedy Charts.
Adam has toured throughout North America with The Moth Mainstage and has appeared multiple times on&nbsp;The Moth Radio Hour&nbsp;and&nbsp;The Moth Podcast.&nbsp;He has also been featured twice on the PBS series&nbsp;Stories from the Stage.
Supplies:&nbsp;Please bring a notebook (or a piece of paper and a hard surface) as well as a pencil or pen of your choice to take notes!
Students will generate work during this course and receive personal feedback as they develop their material.
