Intro to Storytelling with Moth StorySLAM Champ Adam Wade

Learn practical tools to immediately apply to storytelling, public speaking, creative projects, and everyday communication.

This class meets two Sundays in August: 8/16, 8/23 – 1:15pm - 3pm. One ticket purchase enrolls you for the length of the session (both meetings). Class has 12 students max. Sign ups close 8/9.

This workshop is designed for beginners and anyone interested in learning how to tell engaging personal stories. Participants will learn a simple storytelling framework, hear examples, workshop a story of their own, and receive supportive feedback in a warm and encouraging environment.  Together, we'll explore how to find stronger stories, make them more specific, create an emotional connection, and continue developing them long after the workshop ends. 

CLASS ONE will address The Four Key Elements of Telling a Story, and CLASS TWO will be our Story Workshop & Feedback Session.

Please note: Attendance at Class One is required to participate in Class Two.

Adam Wade is a 20-time Moth StorySLAM winner, writer, performer, and storytelling instructor. He is the creator of the #1 bestselling Audible Original memoir You Ought to Know Adam Wade.  Since 2010, Adam has taught storytelling to more than 4,000 students through his classes at New York City's Magnet Theater and has led workshops for organizations including the United Nations, Apple, Google, IBM, PEN America, and The New York Times.  His debut storytelling album, Adam Wade: The Human Comedy, was praised in Sarah Larson's profile of him in The New Yorker. Supplies: Please bring a notebook (or a piece of paper and a hard surface) as well as a pencil or pen of your choice to take notes!

Students will generate work during this course and receive personal feedback as they develop their material.
