Drag Racing Causes 6-Car Park Slope Pileup: Reports

Five people went to the hospital after a late Thursday crash along Fifth Avenue, according to reports.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Street racers revving down a Park Slope street crashed late Thursday and left an otherwise quiet neighborhood strewn with wreckage, reports said.

Five people were sent to the hospital after a six-car pileup on Fifth Avenue, the Brooklyn Paper first reported.

The crash appeared to be caused by an illegal drag race sometime before midnight, witnesses told the Brooklyn Paper. They described hearing cars zooming down the street followed by the deafening sound of a crash.

Video footage posted on Citizen showed several smashed cars and debris scattered across the road near Fifth Street.

Some cars wrecked by the pileup were actually parked on the street, the New York Post reported.
