Beninghove's Hangmen has been called "New York's most cinematic noir band". Twisting, menacing sounds define the sextet that brings a punk attitude to equally macabre compositions.
Based out of the NYC area, the band features some of the area's most disturbing talent. The brainchild of saxophonist/composer Bryan Beninghove, the band features guitarists Dane Johnson and Eyal Maoz, bassist Kellen Harrison, drummer Shawn Baltazor, and Rick Parker on tbone.
Their self-titled debut album received #3 on Lucid Culture's list of Top 25 Jazz Albums of 2011, and placed #7 on New York Music Daily's Top 50 Albums of 2011, where it was called "the best debut album of 2011 by a longshot." Their music has been featured on Comedy Central, IFC, and television outlets.
