Brooklyn-based Urban Folk Art® Collective leads a day-long workshop for all ages, inspired by Keith Haring and resulting in a community-created mural. Teaching artist and Urban Folk Art® cofounder Adam Suerte, who worked with Haring on the Statue of Liberty project in 1986, will facilitate this drop-by activity.
Adults may also register to participate in a monoprint workshop inspired by Haring’s process. Jason Mitchell will lead two sessions, at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Free guided tours of the exhibition Keith Haring: 1978–1982will also be offered throughout the day. Please see our website for more information.
There is a $15 materials fee, and registration is required. As space is limited, advance ticket purchase for admission to the Museum and the workshop is recommended via www.museumtix.com.
