Music across many periods of rock and roll grabs at the heart of King Stork, a four-piece band from New York Surfy vibes mix with twangy guitar riffs; lush three-part vocal harmonies compete with spaced-out psychedelic tones and the fuzzy noise of post-punk and early 90s noise rock. But it's the songs, dummy, that really make the man. Formed a year ago, King Stork writes impressionistic songs with lyrics that are at times nostalgic, often abstruse, and frequently anthemic. A blogger recently compared us to a "more upbeat Velvet Underground," but he's just some kid with a dial-up connection, so what does he know?
