Event Description:

On Saturday, June 2, 2012, Spoke the Hub Dancing and Brooklyn
Conservatory of Music present the 19th annual “Local Produce in the Gardens”, a
day-long celebration of the performing arts held in Park
Slope’s community gardens, the Berkeley- Carroll Performance Space, and the
Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.

Local Produce’s “garden tour” features Brooklyn-grown music,
theater and dance performances in three community gardens – Warren / St. Marks
Garden at 11:00am, the Garden of Union at 12:30pm and at Greenspace @ President
Street at 2:00pm – followed by a young artists’ indoor showcase at the Berkeley
Carroll Performance Space at 4:00pm and an adult professional showcase at
5:00pm.

“Local Produce” rolls into the evening with a Swing Dance Party at
the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music featuring the live music of Art Lillard’s
Heavenly Big Band. No worries if you’re a beginner: Laurie Shayler, one of
Brooklyn’s finest ballroom dance instructors, will teach the basics at 7:30pm
so everyone can swing on through the night!

And it’s all as free as the
breeze!
