Small Dream Ada is an indie chamber group that occupies the space between poetry, classical music, and traditional songwriting. It is as a small orchestra that moves between influences such as Leonard Cohen, Steve Reich, and Led Zeppelin. Its lyrical content explores landscapes of the subconscious. The music (written both by bandleader and vocalist, Alaina Ferris, and Boston based jazz composer, Tyler Gilmore) is created for intimate rooms, hence the term, 'chamber.' Live performances also include Brooklyn songwriter Matt Schlatter on guitar, producer and bassist Marty Fowler on bass, and Mike Beck and drums.
