Phill Niblock: Summer Solstice

Intermedia artist Phill Niblock's truly unique digitally-processed monolithic microtonal drones create sound without melody or rhythm, producing imperceptible changes that creep up on his often unsuspecting audience.  Tonight, Roulette welcomes back this maverick, minimalist composer for a celebration of the Summer Solstice - this time around presenting “Two Lips”, a scored orchestra piece featuring the Dither Guitar Quartet (James Moore, Joshua Lopes, Gyan Riley, Grey McMurray) and Neil Leonard playing saxophone with Sax Mix.  Chris McIntyre, Jen Baker, Will Lang, and James Rogers will also be playing Niblock's trombone piece “A Third Trombone”.  More to be announced.
