PS 295 Touch-A-Truck Brooklyn 2012

On April 28th, PS295: The Studio School
for Arts & Culture will host Brooklyn’s second Touch-A-Truck street fair (http://www.ps295.org/touch-a-truck/). At this exciting family event, kids will have a chance to
climb inside and explore some of the working trucks and vehicles they see in everyday life.

PS 295 Touch-A-Truck Brooklyn will take
place on Saturday, April 28, between 12 P.M. and 5 P.M., rain or shine, and tickets are $5 per person (no charge for infants under six months). The fair will run the length of 18th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, next to PS 295,
which lies at the intersection of Park Slope, Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park.

Building on the popularity of last year’s event, Touch-A-Truck Brooklyn 2012 will be bigger and better than ever:
more trucks, longer hours, shorter lines, and even more great food. Over 20 vehicles are scheduled to take part in the event, along with their drivers/operators, who will be on hand to explain how these automobiles work
and what purpose they serve in the community. Highlights include:

Several of Brooklyn’s famed gourmet
food trucks will also be selling savory treats on-site. Families can purchase amazing burgers and fries from Frites & Meats (http://www.fritesnmeats.com), authentic Greek street food from Souvlaki GR (http://www.souvlakigr.com), great Mexican food from Mr. Jalapeno, and delicious sweets from The Treats Truck (http://www.treatstruck.com/). And of course, no truck event would be complete without Mr.Softee and his frozen treats.

As a fundraiser for PS 295, Touch-A-Truck
Brooklyn helps the school fill the gap left by budget cuts and provide the best possible education for its students. Proceeds from last year’s debut event—which raised $25,000—funded a part-time teacher to help reduce class
sizes in the fourth and fifth grades. Several local businesses have already shown their support for the local elementary school by signing on as event
sponsors, including Checklist Home Services, Dr. Mindy Pediatric Dentistry,Gowanus Bay Terminal, Greschlers’ Hardware, Home Depot, Park Slope Plumbing, Paul
Signs, Quadrozzi Concrete Corp., Rolling Press, Sidecar, SunshineTransportation, and Union Market.
