Kaplan Test Prep Holds Free SHSAT Practice Test Events for Middle School Students on Saturday, May 10

Admission into one of New York City’s prestigious Specialized High
Schools can change a student’s life. The Specialized High School Admissions
Test (SHSAT) is the only criterion for admissions to eight of the New York City
Specialized High Schools. The only exception is the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High
School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, which requires an audition or
portfolio for admission. The SHSAT is administered by the New York City Board
of Education and is only available to New York City residents in the 8th or 9th
grade.

On May 10th Kaplan will host free SHSAT practice test events
throughout the five boroughs. Our dedicated team will proctor a 90-minute
practice test for students at 9:00AM so they can gain a sense of what to expect
on the real thing. While students are testing, parents can enjoy light
refreshments and speak with Kaplan experts about the high school admissions
process and how to prepare for it.
