Man Found Shot to Death in Brooklyn During Saturday's Blizzard: NYPD

The man was found fatally shot in an apartment building in Brooklyn.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN, N.Y. - A Brooklyn man was found dead inside an apartment in Sunset Park during Saturday’s blizzard, police said.

Authorities responded to the incident just before 8 p.m. Saturday. The male identified as Zdzislaw Golabek, 37, of Brooklyn was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his head, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Golabek, lived in the apartment building on 45th Street where he was found shot to death but in a different unit.

The incident was deemed a homicide and police have identified a suspect.

Maciej Gorecki, 32, of Brooklyn was charged with manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with Golabek’s death.

Gorecki lives in a separate apartment building on 45th street.

A report in the New York Post said the man had been playing Russian Roulette when he was shot. Police said they had not confirmed whether the two men had been playing Russian Roulette at the time.
