Man Robs Park Slope Apartment With Screwdriver, Police Say

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a man who they used a screwdriver to get into a Park Slope apartment before making off with cash and jewelry, the NYPD said Wednesday.

The man "displayed a screwdriver and forcibly entered" the apartment near Seventh Avenue and Garfield Place around noon on Monday, February 27, police said.

He took $800 and "assorted jewelry" before fleeing the apartment near Seventh Avenue, police said. No one was injured in the incident, cops said.

It was not clear whether anyone was in the apartment when the man got in.

He is described as a black male in his 40s, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, stocky build and 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing "a gray wool cap with black Yankee logo, dark blue long sleeve jacket, dark pants and black shoes," police said.
