23, 2014 – New York, NY – J-COLLABO.ORG is pleased to present an exciting
evening of dance performance, music and film entitled “My Dance Teacher”. The
event will feature a screening of the 2009 documentary “Kool: Dancing In My Mind”.
This short film by visionary director Robert Wilson and Richard Rutkowski,
focusing on Wilson’s collaborations and relationship with legendary
choreographer Suzushi Hanayagi. Following the screening there will be a dance
performance by famed choreographer Sengiku Bando with music by Kaoru Watanabe
and Fumio Tashiro.

Ms.
Bando will be conducting a discussion with dancer/choreographer Sally Gross and
producer Hisami Kuroiwa exploring the influence of Japanese traditional dance
culture on the international dance community and the world at large. “My Dance
Teacher” promises entertainment, insight and inspiration for everyone who loves
dance, Japanese culture and intercultural collaboration.
